Are there negative effects that come along with having a nitrous bottle heater running whenever I'm driving around? Obviously controlled to shut off at my desired PSI, but I'm just thinking in terms of having it on tap so I can just arm it and go. I was thinking it would expand and contract a lot, but it wouldn't really go anywhere, would it?

As long as you have it controlled to shut off at the desired PSI I see no problem. Also make sure the power is key-on as well.

Well i was gunna wire it up to be constant rather than ignition power so the car doesn't have to be on during staging, but the setup is supposed to be a master switch, and then a pressure controlled switch between that and the heater, so I'd just have to remember to turn off the master switch. I figure if I can remember to turn it on I'll remember to turn it off, and maybe i'll throw in an LED status light to be sure it catches my attention. Thanks man!

I had mine wired up constant thinking it would be handy in the stageing lanes as well. But after over pressuring the bottle big time during a rain delay I changed to key-on! lol

hahahaha experience surely beats speculation...I'll definitely consider this when it comes time to install everything! I picked up a blow down tube from a guy on here as my last line of defense as well

Not to mention that when you forget to turn the heater off it's sucking your battery down. Either 12V igntion switched or master power for the nitrous....

I had a bottle pressure switch malfunction which overheated and pressurized the bottle before I noticed. I did not like that at all so from there on I babysat my bottles until the reached optimal pressure. dont rely on those pressure switches they are dangerous.
