So since im stuck with a V6 stang (2006 auto), im trying to mod it to a respectable level. next on my list is true dual exhaust. im replacing the headers with some shorties and doing a whole new cat back system, but i really dont want to spend the money on high flow cats, i want to just use the stock cats, is this even possible and does everything just bolt on, and is it a good idea or not?

Ok why are you getting Shorty headers?
There is no sound difference
You have to get longtubes for sound difference and Performance
I got brand new high flow cats for sale pm if interested

I doing Shortys cuz i dont need long tubes, im not racing the car. i just want to help eliminate backflow of the exhaust. but headers aside, will a new exhaust bolt up to the stock cats, or do i need new ones?

I personally wouldn't pay for shorty headers unless you plan on having the car at shows all the time with the hood open. Even then, I'd rather look into the engine bay and see long tubes. Long tubes > shorties.
