My girlfriends v6 started make these really loud cracking, squeaking, friction like

noises everytime she turns the wheel, and whenever the suspension moves

the steering its self is fine, seems like it may be leaking but cant be sure

strut tower bushing? why would steering affect that? if i have the car parked and turn the wheel i can hear it, the sound is coming from the rack and pinion

Because the two points that the spindle rotates about when you turn the wheel are the ball joint and the strut tower bushing. The strut tower bushing would also be affected during suspension travel.

I could have sworn there was a TSB or something with something w/ the steering racks w/ the GT's. I can check tomorrow night at school on AllData just to make sure.
