Lowering Springs

I have the eibach pro kit and the left rear is starting to sag. Going to replace with the h&r springs.

Sinister, are those 18" wheels?

17". Look in garage. Everyone says they looks like 18's though.. idk. Maybe cause its dropped that much. :dunno

I've never liked Eibach ever since I called their tech line regarding springs for my AE86, and NO ONE there could answer my very simple question about what was different between a GT-S and SR5 that would cause the springs to supposedly work on one and not the other (they have identical suspension other than spring rates, and yes, those springs DO work on both).

I had three guys tell me "uh, it's application specific" and those were supposedly their engineers.

Yeah, they really do... especially your rear wheels. Well, im gonna change wheels after i get all of this done. I was initially looking at the H&R's so i think thats what im gonna go with. Sportlines look sexy, but i think they're too low for what i can go with around here.

Yeah, the deep dish on the rear is a pretty decent size. Do H&R! After dropping it, I would never go with any other spring. On 17's w/o isos and 18's with, its got a near perfect stance Car rides pretty damn rough though... hoping to fix it via new shocks n lcas soon.

Heh, well, H&R is what I'm going with when I get around to lowering the Cobra :yes

I have the sportlines, you will pretty much get the same drop from them and the super sports, but I feel the H&R is a more quality spring.

They are a great spring rate for the Bilstein HD struts and shocks if you wanted to upgrade them too at the same time.

Sinister, did you replace your shocks/struts as well too? I'm looking to buy the H&R's fairly soon but the only thing holding me back is the expense of it all cause i was planning on getting some tokico blues and camber plates. I'd really like to get just the springs right now to save money but at the same time i'm thinking i'll just save up and do it right the first time.

Haha, thought so. Thats the way i was leaning, which is why i haven't bought anything yet.

The H&R are definitely the best springs of the 3. But the super sports are a 2" drop. pretty big drop if you are worried about scraping, especially if you have long tubes.

H&R Sports are the same spring as the super sports, just a 1/2 inch less of a drop. Something to consider.
