I've never been poor so I'm just making assumptions.

Are you telling me an $80 meal for two isn't poor person budgeting? What about a $60 meal? Is that okay?
I don't even want to fkn hear it.

I can't believe so many prefer the taste of throw up over ranch.

My sisters rehearsal dinner, she ordered salad for the table. Didn't realize it had bleu cheese in the ****ing thing. I made it through about 4 bites before I got a piece of it (it was dark, I thought it was feta or some ****). Instantly I thought the salad was bad, never should food taste like the cook had the stomach flu and the bin of lettuce was more convenient than the toilet.

I had that aftertaste of puking in my mouth for the rest of the night. Surprising people are into that sort of thing.
I don't like throw up, but boo cheese is great.

I'm craving Popeyes ****ing bad

I'm on poor person budgeting right now though, so ham and cheese on wheat it is.
Worth getting shanked in the parking lot for it?

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRE YOU READY TO RUUMMMMMMMMMBLLLLLLEEEEEE?

Real poor person budgeting is just skipping all the meals except dinner and eating 6 eggs.

That's only $0.75 per day for protein and fat.

You could almost feed a child in a 3rd world country on that.
I'm convinced we could solve third world hunger if we could just convince them to grow zucchini. There's always more than you ever want or need.

Falling asleep on a pullout couch with no mattress playing vidya games > going to my comfortable bed
lol that sounds awful. Don't pullouts rely on the mattress to provide support for the couch cushions?

Ford apparently decided last week they are calling the new Mach E a Mustang.

That was a retarded idea.
Really? I hadn't seen that. Wow, that's kind of dumb. Why would they not at least start out with a high-performance electric coupe and then boil the frogs over to a CUV? Big yikes.

What are Mustang sales numbers doing? Certainly they're not falling off a cliff yet? That'd be the only reason I could see the executives signing off on the marketing group thinking this is a good idea.

Pony cars sales are junk across the board with chevy leading the decline.

Dodge has a ton of incentives so they are actually hanging in there. I think it was like 2 months ago where they outsold the mustang and camaro, but I don't know how much profit they actually made, and it wasn't by much.

****. Quickest source I could find is this one which is from July.

Camaro down 3.4% YoY. Challenger down 23 ****ing percent YoY and Mustang down 9.2% YoY. Mustang sales staying ahead of the others.

Writing may be on the walls for the basic versions of these cars. Can't imagine they'd dump the specialty versions, but who knows at this point.

Still bullshit to move the moniker to a four door crossover. But I can imagine the marketing team doesn't want to lose the name altogether if they end up abandoning two door coupes completely since I imagine it does drive people the brand.

damn zoomers and their empty wallets and disinterest in driving, smh :bash:

The specialty cars are the expensive ones for the company. They make lots on ecoboost mustang sales, but GT500? Even though it's expensive as hell I bet their spreadsheets show a lot more profit from their base car sales than the big time stuff.

Hand built headers, carbon radiator supports and shock tower mounts, huge ass brakes, composite fenders, millions of radiators, etc.

That **** adds up. It would surprise me if the GT500 has the same margin per car as a base mustang.

Oh I'm aware.

I don't mean from a financial perspective though, I mean from a "holding on to the small enthusiast market" perspective since Ford has generally tried to hold on to that reputation since the early 90s or so.

But I suppose most non-specialty automobile brands are more or less slowly moving towards abandoning "financially attainable" performance cars in favor of moving towards "make it look sporty and nobody will care", except I guess GM with the mid-engine Corvette - but who really knows the long term financial viability of that either.

I'm generally fine with the inevitable move away from 100% ICE, but I still want a nimble two door coupe. I'll miss the fun V8 noises, but I'll still be able to get those by purchasing an older model.

It'll just suck if they move their performance category to CUV's and completely rid themselves of two door coupes.

The SUV/CUV thing is the worst thing that's ever happened. I regularly bitch about the ecosport. What was wrong with the Fiesta being a few inches lower to the ground and having a little less headroom, which it already has plenty?

"I can't do a fiesta, I need an SUV if it snows."

"You live in Florida, if it snows the roads will be closed, you won't be going anywhere"

"Well I need it for the rear leg room for my friends."

"It's the same amount of leg room, it sucks ass in both."

"I need it for my dog"

"Do you have a big dog?"

"She is a tea cup Pomeranian, but she hyperventilates if she is in a small car."

"Jesus Christ, Karen."

Yup.

Unfortunately this is the free market at work. Death of these forums, although accelerated by colossal ****ups by the companies that own them, was really just a symptom. Interest in enthusiast vehicles has seemed to wane in the next generation of kiddos. Speaking to Gen-X parents, I hear way more frequently things like "my kid doesn't care about getting their license".

I'm sure all of you boomers and wannabe-boomers will say it's all the EPA and Obama's fault, but the enthusiast crowd is shrinking and the generation after ours cares less about driving. Whether powered by electric motors or not, the design philosophy is heading into "practical but looks cool".

Us enthusiasts are a niche market now and I'll bet all of us combined don't have nearly as much information on the direction of the future as Ford and other manufacturer's marketing analysis. And at the end of the day, the people at the top deciding where to put the money don't give a **** about a handful of people sitting the wings waiting to buy some rich twat's used performance car once their lease is over.

Definitely seems like I need to snag another Mustang in the next few years and plan to hold onto it for the forseeable future so I can spend at least a decade or so of enjoying the whole "actually driving the car" thing.

Time to make the SN-16 debacle look tame. Looks like they took a cue from Mitsubishi and the Lancer.

I'm not a fan of the CUV but I get it, at least when it's well executed. The C-max was trash. The Buick Encore (and by extension the Traxx) has a shocking amount of room for the footprint that it occupies. It makes for a really practical car, though certainly not a performance one. Absolutely not my cup of tea but I get it.

I remember laughing at the stupid "urban high tech" concept cars Detroit was putting out 10 years ago, but I guess I was the stupid one. They're the future; a blocky high tech room on wheels with minimal human interaction. That is if we don't rapidly transition to a vehicle service market like Ford is banking on.

Why do news websites waste bandwidth on a video that when you play it just plays drums and string music but still makes you read? **** that's the entire reason I clicked play. Trying to eat and you read the **** to me.
