I make my own battery tray.. to mount it I take out gas tank .and use holesaw to drill a couple in holes cossmember to get bolt started up threw.once battery in place I use one inch aluminum channel with hole drill in each end to secure it...

I did mine without removing the tank. just used self tapping screws short enough not to hit the tank. I used an enclosed battery box like you would use in a boat. turned out nice. I will try and post a picture.
