Im literally stumped on this one guys..

The car has been acting up for about 4 weeks now. It will die/sputter/misfire ONLY after about 25-30+ minutes of driving in HOT weather. Car runs and drives normal under every other condition. Everytime before the car starts to die it develops a misfire and falls on its face one time almost like it has no fuel and then runs ok for another minute or less. Then it ill sputter if nt completely die altogether instantly and makes a kreeking sound as if ran out of fuel. I have replaced the ignition module and i have a brand new MSD TFI coil thats a few months old. The TPS and IAC are new as well. If you wait about 5 or so minutes after it dies to start it back up it will run fine for a little while longer. If you try to start the car up right away the motor turns over for about 5 or 6 seconds and then it barely starts. Sounds like its starving fuel maybe?

Im going to try and get it scanned but you think that would cause the erratic ticking sound as well every time it shuts itself off?

that clicking is the fuel pump relay going crazy, and the fuel pump is turning on and off erratically. i would start by replacing the fuel pump relay which is under the drivers seat. and let us know if that changes anything

It only clicks though when it shuts itself off. Every other time if i shut it off or dont drive it very long its doesn't do that. From what i understand the TFI controls when to turn the fuel pump on and off?

then check continuity on the HOT wire to the ignition switch...with it kicking the fuel pump and other sensors like that i suspect loose or broken wire somewhere, if the ignition switch has already been replaced. More then likely its a wire running along the engine, its gets hot the connection breaks down or the wire expands breaking continuity.

Im going to check it out but it's more than just the fuel pump going crazy. It's the injectors, IAC, etc that are ticking/pinging.

Im hoping its a bad wire somewhere. I'm going to check it out and i'll get back to you guys when i've figured it out and not so busy with work. Cars been parked in the garage for about 4 days now lol.

so what codes is it throwing
No place has an OBD1 Ford scanner. I think one of the shops does and i might have them scan it to see if anything useful comes up.

PIP inside the Dizzy. here is a way to prove that. go loosen the bolt on the hold down, and turn your dizzy one way or the other, it will click and you will hear the fuel pump prime. being as yours is bad, it is making a contact intermittently (sic?) because of the heat soak from the hot engine. Heat makes things expand. try this, get a can of compressed air (like the stuff you would use to clean a keyboard) turn it upside down so that it sprays liquid and aim it at the TFI, it will cool it down quickly and if the problem goes away then you will see...

Wow that was a disconnected post.

we put in a brand new dizzy and swapped out pcm's. still does it. Checked/wiggled wries going to ignition switch.. still does it guys. I'm pretty much out of ideas, even my speed shop guy is dumb-founded and he can pretty much fix anything.
