im getting ready to get my 88 lx fixed, i only have one oil pump gasket...is there only supposed to be one or is there sopposed to be 2 of them?

how come when u go to buy a new one, u can only buy the inlet one??
do i have to buy a new pump to get both gaskets??

I wouldn't think so, just go to autozone or something

nope just to let you guys know...advance auto said that they think it might be a dealer part. the gaskets are slightly bigger then the other...but i think u might b able to use the same one for both side..but i just bought a high perf one anyway

I thought there was only the gasket between the pump and the block and the pick up just slides into the pump

y a stock volume one? this is the 2nd pump that i know it has been through, when i pulled the pump out i found another piece of the old pumps shaft laying in the pan

a hv will take more power to turn and at high rpms can/will suck a pan dry and cause oil starvation
