need help

i have a 2004 ford mustang that has the factory alarm system and the alarm part dose not work every thing else for the alarm works. what i mean by that is i can lock and shut my door with the window down and open the door with the alarm set but the alarm dose not go off i cant figurre it out and cant get any help
