planing to run 18x10 285 35 18's in rear. im thinking 410's, but was wondering if 430's would be too much. also, i do alot of highway driving, infact, all highway driving. thanks for your opinions

I've had 4.10's in my car for the last year and have put 32,000 miles on it since then... I do a lot of highway driving and would not even consider anything less than 4.10's. There were several times I contemplated the 4.30's as well, but decided to stick to 4.10's. When I get another car for a daily driver, 4.30's WILL be in it

i had 4.10 in my 99 cobra , i had to swap them out to 3.73s . 4.10s rev up to quick. you be hitting the limiter b4 you can shift. it felt like the 3.73s had more pull to them. jmo

Buddy of mine has a 99 cobra, basic bolt-ons, tune with 4.56s. Car is an animal.

I would try out the 4.10 gear first, see how you like it for a few months. If you think you'd rather have the 4.30.. then change it out. Simple.

With 600+ rwhp, yeah I can see how that would be a problem.

I have a friend with 466 rwhp & 4.10s and it's really nice.

Whew... barely made the edit :D

It didnt sound like I was wanting it to...

No matter what rpm's you are turning (within reason)... if you are remaining a constant speed you will be conserving gas....

I was trying to explain to they guy that said you will fill up every other day that with "normal" highway driving conditions, you will still average around 20mpg, maybe more

Now, if you like to do ricer flybys frequently on the highway, then, yeah, you will be sucking down gas

With 4.10s and stock size tires you should be closer to 2700 rpm at 82 mph.

btw i got an auto and im goin with 4.30 i would go with either and adjust to fit your driving from their. if youve never experienced the diff in gears. then get the 4.10s. then your about equally away from 3:73 and 4:30. you can also sell your gears if you dont like them

i had 373 in my 96 gt, auto, and i didnt like them. this is a 03 gt manual, and i wont make that mistake again, so atleast 410's. but i was wondering if more was necessary because of the extra inch of wheel diamater, or if the 410s will be good.

had 4.10's in my bolt on 99 cobra, and loved them, they wernt bad on the highway, and i didnt find the gears to short, but then again i shift pretty fast too.

was also driving around in my buddies 99 cobra the other day that is completely built vortech T trim, solid with 4.10's, and it was fine, and with 600RWHP on 13PSI and 4.10's 1st is pretty damn short considering it spins the first 3 gears with ease. cant imagine what its going to be like once we do the 8 rib conversion, and bump it up to 20PSI... can you say 800RWHP race gas.

that car was also originally set up for a 28" tall slick, whcih is one of the reasons for the 4.10's.
