I don't wanna sound like an old man here but lying to him will get you f-ed in the end. That phone call from the track one night cause you shelled something needing him to help you get the car back home will be the worse. There is always the option of not telling him and just going but, before you go that route let me throw something out there. May work, may not. Sit down with him like a man, tell him confidently and adult like, that you would like for both of you to go one nite/day. Tell him you just want him to see what it is that you are very interested in. Most parents would rather see there kids do what makes them happy (if its legal mind you) then nag them completly to death and have them go behind their backs and do god knows what. Just make him see that this is something you love and you arent out on the streets pounding it out and you arent out doing drugs and **** (I hope,LOL). My mom and dad where the same way with my bullriding. They didn't want me doing it and they definatly didn't wanna go. I sat them both down (even though they where divorced) and told them. This is what I am into, I know you where into stuff when you where young and I want you to go with me and see how much fun I have and I want your support. I didn't beg or plead with them I just made them see I was adult enough (even though I probably wasn't back then lol) to do stuff I loved and I was smart enough not to get hurt. Try that first. Good luck with it man.

tell him your racing it whether they le you go to the track or not. then ask if theyd rather let you race where its controlled and with medical help if needed instead of you out playing on the streets

haha your parents are just like mine. and doc that is very good advice, but doesnt work all the time. My parents dont want me to drive fast or do anything to my car. When I still lived in their house I use to tell them that i just went to the track because I liked to watch the races and all my friends would take their cars out there. Yeah i know its better to tell the truth, but I tried doing what doc said. didnt work at all. They just think its stupid to beat on a car that was made just for transportation. They also think my car is still stock. haha. I dont know to tell you honestly. there is no good answer. If you have morals do what doc said, but they can always shut you down and not want you to go to the track. I just wish my dad was into cars like me. just know that if you dont tell them and they find out they will probably be pretty pissed and losing your parents trust is a bad thing and hard to get back.

My parents were exactly the same way.

This is what i told them. I constantly told them how much i love to get on my car, i just cant stand to not floor it. They hate hearing that, so i said, well i really wish i could go to the track and race for real so i wouldnt be tempted to race on the street.

and when it opens back up this april, they're going with me and making videos lmao.

try it

also think of it like this... if you do sit down and talk, and they still disregard it, then just go... chances are you're not gonna break anything, unless you're pushin more than 400rwhp. And the track is much better than the awful traction the streets provide, and you, unless ur the worlds worst driver, wont go into a wall, unless you're like i said, an awful driver and have 400rwhp.

if its in their name then why bother. wait til its in your name. then they have no overhead on you. they'll still give you grief/**** but they wont have any overhead in terms of we own the car per title, even though you may make the payments or such.

btw good advice doc, try and talk to them about it...but dont do it behind their backs, they got an overhead on you if its in thieir name.
