Hey guys Im new to the mustang world, I just bought a 1988 gt to work on and fix up. When i got home I noticed this plug disconnected, and was wondering if somebody could tell me what it is, and effect it has being unpluged. It apears to be broke, If you notice the green piece sticking out of the plug i am sure that is from the other end, so i am thinking i am going to have to replace that part. Thanks for the help.

EGR. There is also supposed to be a vac line attached to the nipple above your arrow but it is disconnected as well. Running with the EGR disconnected normally only trips the CEL but there is no harm from not using it except for increased NOX emissions. Does the car still have cats and the air pump? Just in case not not really related to your EGR, do a once over on all of your vac lines to make sure they are not leaking or cracked, a lot of those vac lines in that area are hard plastic and crack over time and if someone was playing back there, they could be leaking.

AOD's aren't controlled by the ECU so it really doesn't matter.

I've been searching for over a month for the differences...

In my old Supra we used an auto ecu with a standard trans to get the better maps
no my point was I never used the a9p ecm's.. and the same is said for the a9p's verses the a9l's.. The a9ps have a slightly more aggressive timing curve supposedly.
