Yay. Anyway, it has a 351 cleveland, rust, and needs a transmission. Anyway, I've been looking around for an AOD to replace the c4 that's bad in it. I already have almost all the panels that need replacing on it. I'm hoping to go get it Friday. Pics to follow tonight.

Stick to a C4 or C6. Don't do the AOD.

Understandably the aod is a weaker trans, but I'm not going to drag race or launch repeatedly. These cars are hard to find parts for, so it will be a weekend cruiser, and I want an aod for economy.

You would need an external controller for the 4R70W.

The c4 is a great transmission. Though depending on your rear end gearing you could be cruising fairly high in the RPMs on the highway. I had a C4 in mine before I converted it to stick.

Sweet, nice find man. It already looks great. I'd agree with trying to rebuild the C4. I run one and after the rebuild has given me no problems. It has a little B&M shift kit that makes it pretty fun. Can't wait to see progress with it :yes

Yet is runs, little rough, but nothing a carb rebuild can't fix. It had several vacuum lines chewed up by mice, so needless to say i had to fix those. That helped quite a bit. I'm gonna have to pull the dash and fix some wiring issues, as my blower fan doesn't work. Plus it's a little mousey if you know the smell. It has some rust on the torque box, and subftame as well, but I have a complete rust free car to pick and pull from. I plan on fixing the sub frame rust when I have the engine and trans out. I'm going to reseal the engine while I'm rebuilding the trans.

Just plan on getting her road worthy first off...

started pulling the dash apart to assess the non running blower fan situation... Needless to say a GIANT ass mouse nest was removed along with some wiring...

Congratulations on the Torino purchase...you're way ahead of me and my '68 Torino GT. Mine's still in pieces. First thing you need to do is hit up the Fairlane Club of America, and join if you haven't. Their club magazine is a wealth of information. Second, gather up as many spare parts as you can find and hit up swap meets and shows. Third, assuming the car is all original, keep it that way. Numbers matching Torinos are extremely hard to find and tend to get their full value at auction. Restomods are cool, but keep your original parts and don't butcher the car...don't do something that can't be undone. Fourth, if they're not cracked or broken already, protect the front and rear glass at all costs...it's not cheap. I was given a spare back glass when I bought mine, and that sucker is guarded like Fort Knox.

All that being said, that is one sexy Torino. Now you need a build thread.
