Apparently Steve Austin is no longer the "Father of Texas." Political correctness is taking over the most liberal city in Texas and some are not content to just take Civil War monuments down but want the city renamed. Apparently he supported slavery. The city was picked as the capital of the Republic of Texas before Texas joined the union.

I can understand taking down monuments for the losing side in the Civil War. But Austin was named well before the Civil War during a time when ever single country in the New World had slavery.

And the best they can come up with is renaming the city for something that occurred almost 200 years ago? Everyone in the Equity Office needs to be fired so that people who are capable of real solutions can be appointed.

If only things worked that way in Various departments just clean house if the propasals or ideas seem off base. Then again I suppose in some places with some ppl it can be that simple when it’s disagreeable or off base in a way it’s you’re fired or they should be fired and you see musical chairs with staffing in those cases.

As a born and raised Austinite...not a chance.

Also, according to this article, I was named after a slave owner and they're wanting to remove all references to my name. That's dumb.

Best part about this is the libs believe Steve F Austin, the father of Texas, was a confederate leader and Austin was named for his leadership in the civil war.

The confederacy was founded in 1861, the civil was started in 1864. The city of Austin was named after SFA in 1839. SFA died in 1836. It’s amazing how much he accomplished post-mortem.

Give an inch, take a mile in a nutshell.

The extremist portion of the liberal Democrats are throwing as much **** at the wall as they can to see what sticks.

They want parents to get an infant's permission before changing the diaper so that it is not "sexual abuse".

They want to recognize any of a ridiculous number of "genders", when the science they love so much when it comes to climate change tells them otherwise.

They want everyone who is a hetero white male to be labeled as an abusive sexual predator simply because they are hetero white males.

They want every gun in the world destroyed, as though that will somehow stop violence.

I could go on, but you get the point.

Sounds a lot like the strategy from Republicans a few years back.
