That's right, went to the track for the first time tonight. Got in 4 runs between 1:15am and 2:15am after the horrendous check in times. Was pleased with some of my better times, and even my first run wasn't horrible. Best time for the evening was a 13.76 at 104.76mph. Raced against a Camaro SS for my first run, I actually smoked him badly (something HAD to have gone wrong with his car) beat him by 2.27 seconds. Second race was against a Camaro as well, beat him too by 1.44. The third was against a guy I came down to the track with, he was in a slightly modded Scion, managed to beat him by 2.49s. And the last run was awesome! Don't know what the car was, some hatch back, but I pulled on him to start with and he couldn't gain on me, but stayed right at my bumper, only won by .22sec.

Anyways, some stuff to work on, my reactions steadily increased to about a .58 by the end but still tons of room for improvement there, I never had to power shift, but I'm sure that could knock some time off. With a perfect reaction time I would have been running about 13.1-13.3s. Here's the slips below.

nice! my 1st run was only the 1/8 mile and I beat a 96 black vette! i was stoked! it is fun! I want to run the 1/4 so bad! I have to wait intill may and drive my car 225 miles to the nearest strip when it opens! but may 17 i know what im doing all day! lol

I went twice last week and I think I could use my motor up in a month if I just went with my inner child... first times ever at a strip... I think I did about as well as I can for the 55 deg and lower temps... 30 runs in two trips to the strip is a little overdoing it but fun as hell... just opened and there wasn't any one there....

Thanks guys, I was pretty happy with my 13.7 run, and I know once I knock that reaction time down to a .2 or less, I should be running excellent times. and 2006greygt, I found out I'll be working over at Overland Park starting in mid June, so I'll be frequenting the KC track from then on, hope to see ya down there! Lord knows I won't be racing you though :no

actually r/t wont affect ur overall time... as soon as ur tires move the timer begins...unless ur racing someone then r/t counts

It seemed like it was being factored into it, might just be going crazy though. The one close race I had, our R/T differences minus how much I won by equaled the difference in final 1/4 times. Too much math for me this early, but I guess that would mean it wasn't factored in.

if your running against some one then the margin of the difference is going to be the reaction plus the margin of defeat.. for example last nite i got a rxn of .01....i coulda stayed at the line for 5 seconds n my time would still be the same... then my second pass my reaction was .06 and the other guy .12...i still lost even though i treed the hell outta him he had the faster car... but r/t matters if u wanna beat someone...if your just trying to beat ur times then dont worry about that

That's what I'm hoping for! I was initially freaked out at the line because as we were pulling into the raceway I told my buddy that with my luck I'd be up against some modded red Camaro SS. Pull into the staging lanes and right before I go up to the tree, I'm against some beater truck that would have been a guarantee win (had nothing done to the truck) but the guy didn't have his racing wrist band yet, so they kicked him out of the line. Sure enough, what's behind him? red Camaro SS, I was pissed, lol. But thankfully, I cleaned the floor.

Whatever the St Louis Gateway racetrack is at. I know we're not terribly high up, but it isn't sea level either.

I wasn't so much nervous about driving at the track as I was that my first two races were against camaros
