Man, was this one crazy night tonight. Y'all are gonna be in for a story so here we go;

Started off as a boring Saturday night. Nobody was in town, so a buddy and I decided to meet up and go cruise around and find something to do. Actually ended up running into a 3v that I had a few runs with in Mexico, so that kind of sparked the night a little bit.

After that, back to cruising we went. Drove around the country a little bit looking for some possible hunting spots. Then we just decided to go to the town that has a bar that another one of our buddies had talked about for the hell of it, since we had nothing else to do.

So, we head that way. About 5-6 miles out in this little town, we are cruising through at 30 and my friend notices something. All of the sudden I hear him say "Uh, I think that barn is on fire." My instincts tell me to turn around and check it out, so I did. Upon further notice, you can see a definite flame when looking from under the barn. The house next to it is less than 5 feet away...

So, we try calling the fire department. Twice. Line was busy both times. But, we see someone pull into the driveway of the house next to the barn so I drive over and we tell him. He takes off running over there and so I pulled my car around the front to where we can see the barn fully again and he is waving us over. My friend gets out and walks over and they both come back again.

He tells us that there is a truck inside there, which is his work truck, and the key to open the garage door on the shed is in the truck... Finally he breaks open the lock and opens the door, which was a bad idea. The fire grew, and it did fast.

Next thing we know is this is the sight:

The wife gets a hold of the fire department after a couple tries of calling them and 911. Finally the first respond firemen show up, and gradually more and more show up, and it is put out. The owners of the house couldn't think my friend and I enough for stopping and trying to help as best as we could.

They took our names and numbers and we left, only to be called back to talk to the firemen and the sheriff, who happened to be the most badass cop I've ever met in my life.

Honestly I haven't felt this good in a while, doing what we did made both of us feel extremely good. The wife and husband of the house/barn had 3 kids. They kept thanking us and saying how we could have just saved their lives, and how thankful they were for us being there when we were. The guy even told us that he was about to walk in and go to sleep, little did he know about his barn behind his house on fire... Who knows what could have happened if we hadn't of been there.

We need more people like you in this world, well done. I came across a similar situation years ago, but the barn was already gone. Thanfkully no one inside and the house was a couple hundred yards away. I think the guy lost his tractor which is all he was worried about. Someone said the hay bales combusted in the loft.
