Hi all! I just completely flushed the power steering fluid from a 2000 3.8 mustang and replaced the pump. I used Valvoline Max Life Full Synthetics ATF Dex/Merc, Mercon LV. After replacing the pump I turned the wheel left to right for about 30 minutes to help work out air pockets.

However, it has a horrible whining noise. It sounds like I have a super charger lol. Did I do anything wrong or will this work out on its on?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Did you stop turning the wheel when bubbles appeared? Also did you use dex/merc or mercon lv because those are two different fluids are arent compatible. You might have to flush all the old fluid and refill it with either dex/merc or type f (I dont know off the top of my head what it takes) and bleed the system.
