I wouldn't say it's as hard on the engine as it is on the transmission. The engine can hit the rev limiter if you're not very good at shifting quickly. If you can't shift well, I don't recommend trying to do more advanced shifting techniques until you're very good at shifting normally.

Don't do it unless you have had professional instruction. I've been to a couple of schools learned from the best, but I would never PS my own car. I did it many times in my 07 GT and had granny issues. Related maybe...

The T5 in the S197 V6 is a light duty, crappy shifting POS. Power shifting it will lead to an expensive repair in very short order.

You need to man up and tell your granny that you're going to shift however you please :dunno

And how does your phone/ipod/whatever not know "tranny"? I saw "sexy tranny" and "tranny porn" were in your recent searches :shiftyeyes

Prolly should stick to granny shifting.
Back in the day when I was street racing a camaro it seemed to me all the manual mustang guys transmissions were always broken. These were all old school 5.0 with the T5.
I know better than to beat on the T5, it don't like it much. Quick shift it every once in a while but I would never power shift it.

I beat on my car a bit too much and i do a lot of quickshifting and ive tried powershifting too a couple times and honestly there really is no upside to it. it didnt do anything but just hurt my engine, like they all said just stick to granny shifting like i have to now since i got pulled over 2 nights ago doing 65 in a 25. :(

That's what I was going to say. Not something I'd feel comfortable beating on. A 3650 or TR6060 on the other hand, would handle it better

ya dont powershift the T-5, not baggin on it cause i have one too but its not built to handle the pressure, the T-5 is ****, instead of powershifting just work on speed shifting if you can shift fast enough or maybe get a short throw you can increase the speed of ur shifts and same difference
