So I’ve felt that my car doesn’t seem to accelerate like I would like, especially if I need to slow down and re-accelerate. I get vibration at between 35 - 45. I’m guessing, and I’m by no means a mechanic that my torque converter may need replacing. Unfortunately there are so many options and opinions I am not sure how to proceed as far as stall, etc. Mods I’ve done are as follows:
Stage 1 Comp CAMS
3.17 gears
315 rear tires
Aluminum drive shaft
50 hot Nitrous
Modified BAMA tune
Some of the common bolt ons (exhaust, throttle body and plenum, steeda cold air kit)
Should I look at a stall of around 3000 or would I be better with a 2500 - 2800?
I’m assuming I want a locking converter

Where is the best place to look for a torque converter and what brands are recommended?

Guess I should have added I have taken the car to the strip before, but for the most part the wife and I cruise around in it so I am concerned about drivability. Also hope to at some point replace the nitrous kit with a Kenne Bell SC, but that may take awhile
