I have a 99 gt purchased from a good friend. Prior to purchase he replaced the aftermarket stereo with the factory unit because it was thought that something involving the radio was draining the battery. After the factory unit was back in, there appeared to be no battery drain. But after owning the car for a month or so and not driving it every day or every other, the issue is back. Removed both radio fuses and have left the car sit for several days with no start up and car starts just fine. Question is were do I go from here? I would like to repair it as to putting in a battery cutoff or keep pulling the fuses. Thanks.

what is the condition of the harness for the radio? Was it cut at all then spliced back together?

Also, there are 3 fuses that are for the radio. #27 (25 amp fuse), #32 (15 amp fuse), and #37 (10 amp fuse). The first one is primarily for the radio while the other 2 are for the radio and other electronic equipment as well. if you want to check it out start by pulling the first fuse and let it sit and see if anything happens. if it does then you found the culprit if not then reinsert it and go on with the next and repeat the process until you find the one that is draining the battery. If it turns out to be one of the other 2 then it may be another electrical component and you will have to check them.

Another way that you can do it is if you are familiar on how to use a multimeter you can measure current draw to see if it is indeed the radio or another component.

well i would say first check the battery to see if its actually good by doing a load test, then if that comes out ok use a multimeter and do a parasitic drain test on it, i might not be just the radio doing it

are you sure that it is your radio? If it were your amps still staying on you would get a buzzing sound out of your subs. also is it factory or aftermarket.
