As some of you know I was diagnosed with epilepsy last july and florida state law states that I need to be at least 6 months seizure free before I can start driving again (like that really stopped me lol). Anyway, a week ago my fiancees dad was in a crash and needed to borrow her car so I figured this was the perfect opportunity to start driving my new 02 gt, even though its only been about 5 months seizure free. So I end up taking it to work and all is well until lunch. I go for a cruise around the parking lot and all of a sudden hear a loud thud and now it sounds like Im running straight pipes. ****. I pull over and get out to see the damage. My muffler caught a manhole cover thats about 2 inches above the surrounding road. It pulled my muffler back and bent my tailpipe on the axle. I have a set of m80s I was going to install anyway but now I have to buy a new tailpipe. I literally just got my new tailpipes on and my exhaust straightened out about 2 weeks ago and now this. Pretty pissed right now...

You know the funny part is that even my neurologist told me that they dont take your license and its not regulated by the state so technically I could drive in the meantime... But he didnt condone it haha.

In this country the DVLA will revoke your licence on medical grounds and you have to provide medical evidence of being seizure free for 12 months before they will re issue it..

Still gutted for ya mate!

A coworkers' daughter has epilepsy too and they did take her license for a bit but she lives in pennsylvania. Luckily they dont here in florida lol.

I like the sound of m80s but I really like the hollow sound of flows honestly so itll be tough. I run m80s on my 07 gt and love them. By far the best sounding exhaust on the s197.

Not to be a dick but those license restrictions are put in place for a reason, number one so you don't have a seizure while driving and kill yourself or somebody else. If you have a proper diagnosis, medication, and are under control then so be it. On the flip side if they say six months, it's six months. I don't even think there would be a trial if somebody with a known medical issue took out my family. Driving is a privilege not a right. When you are six months seizure free, rock on.

Op I hope you aren't in Tampa. I'd like to drive far away from you. Not to be a dick, but things are put into place for a reason. Quit being a selfish.....William

Nope not in tampa, quite a bit south actually. And Im not complaining about the law its just what happened as soon as I started driving again. My fiancee doesnt have a car at the moment and both my stangs are stick, which she doesnt drive very well, so Im taking over driving at least until she gets her car back. Besides its been about 5 and a half months seizure free so its not like I just had one and am going out there by myself where I can hurt myself and others.

In NH we have the same rule I believe, I worked with a lady in the same situation many years ago, had a seizure, she wasn't supposed to drive for six months, her husband was supposed to be taking her to work, she said "tough, you cant make me not drive", 4 months in, she had a seizure while on her way to work and rolled her car down an embankment and in to a river. She didn't survive.

Ive been having my fiancee drive me to work and all that since I got out of the hospital but its been almost 6 months and Ive been feeling good so I should be in the clear. Like I said before its not like I just got diagnosed and Im out driving... The whole point is that I screwed up my exhaust the first time Im fially able to drive.

Bwal, reps when I get to a computer haha.

Maybe I worded the op wrong. No I did not start driving after being diagnosed, I would take it down my street so it wouldnt be sitting for months at a time. Ive been seizure free since late october or early september, I seriously forgot which. It was a dark time in my life that I want to forget. So please dont flame me for me wording something incorrectly. I may be young and stupid but Im not that stupid.
