Well, got the car back today with a rebuilt rear end. Smooth as ever, no bearing noise, and new carbon disk clutch packs (all soaking in RP!). Soooo good to have her back! I hate catching a ride to work...not because I didn't like/appreciate it, but because the trip to/from work is some "me" time where I listen to MY music, in MY car, and can dump the day's stress, you know? The bearings were saved, too, so I'll get a pic up soon. There's a chip out of a few rollers on the one that came from the left carrier side, so that was the issue! Good stuff.

Oh so you decided to have someone else do it? Good to hear that it is fixed and that you were right about it being carrier bearings.

Yeah, had someone else fix it...I just wasn't comfortable foregoing this alone without at least a good friend who knows them a little to assist if needed. No, I didn't upgrade gears, unfortunately. The spiders never came in and had to cancel the order, so when I get the gears/spiders at a later date, it's going in all at once. I'm SOOOOOO glad I can enjoy my car again sans-noise! No slip, either, with the carbon discs. She'll launch just as hard as the day I bought it! I can't wait to get the gears done. Hey, is there anything that is capable of being beefed up on the tranny? I'm sure it has its weak points, and I've already installed the Pro 5.0 shifter, so what can be done tranny-wise? Or should I just hold out for a T-6060? I hate to have spent money on the driveshaft to have to get another one for the 6060. I don't have all the money for that right now anyway. Just checking my options. Thanks!

^^see above, but it was the carrier bearing, bro. Of course, the driveshaft was taken out with it, and it was all due to a little thing called wheel hop...factory UCA and LCAs are bad about that. Now, is there a way to beef up the stock tranny...I believe I have the 3650...and is it worth it, or do I hold out for the 6060/a new driveshaft?
