My progress for tonight . I forgot to take a pic of the engine but all 2v look the same anyways. Gonna put new timing chain and HW and put new gaskets on the entire engine and tranny and gonna add LT while its out so I'm happy.

Wow man that engine bay is messy while you have that engine out clean the **** out of your bay its a disaster in there:). I taped off and painted my engine bay when my motor was out so I could actually tell where a leak was coming from if I developed one. Your doing the right thing changing out the exaust while you got the motor out, but let me give you a bit of advice. Dont use anything other then the Factory Copper gaskets that came OEM with the car. The BBK and others have been failing on folks and leaking.

Why do you have NPI heads? Someone dick you on a motor swap and put an ancient anemic early NPI motor in there?

No I'm refreshing the heads. My valve seals are letting oil get through and thus burning oil.

I understand that. Your 02 GT should have PI heads, it doesn't. Those are 92-98 NPI heads.

The head on the left is NPI, the one on the right is PI. See the difference.

Those are NPI heads, manufacturing began in 91 and ran through 98. NPI, early style heads. I'm not high asshole.

That's wonderful. I didn't say anything about the intake manifold. Those are NPI heads.

Look at the ports. Cam cover bolts have nothing to do with what heads are on the car. I've even provided you a picture to show you the difference in the NPI and PI intake ports. ****, i'll give you another one. This one is a NPI head with a PI intake gasket laid on it..... which is what you're going to see when you lay the correct 2002 gasket on top.

Post a pic of the top of the intake manifold as well as a bottom shot showing the intake ports. NPI intakes are available with aluminum crossovers now as well. If the intake is NPI you'll need to run the early style NPI gasket, if the intake is PI you'll need to run the PI intake gasket or you'll have vacuum leak issues.
