Hit me up next time you're in town! Where were you at?
haha sure thing man, if I ever have time. Perhaps if I'm stuck there broken down, or out of hours there for some reason. Under normal conditions... it's tough to quickly explain, without sounding like a dick, why it is extremely difficult for me to make plans outside of work while I'm on a trip.

So I'll write a little story while my wife is cooking me bacon and eggs as I'm taking a break from building her some pine bear chairs.

Actually only one stop was in Pittsburgh. The others were around-ish the area. First delivery, down in West Elizabeth, then up to Pittsburgh, to a company on 2nd ave beside the river, a bit down from the 10th street bridge. Then, back down to Eighty-Four PA, to a place on rte 519.

That's some trip in a 70 foot long articulated vehicle I might add-

First, trying to get into W Elizabeth... have to get off 51 N to 837 S. Ramp closed. So, follow detour... at 4 am.. get lost. Let me tell you, not a fun part of the woods to get lost in when you're pushing 40 tons. I actually got down into Elizabeth proper, and thought I was going to have a moment that I've wondered about for my 22 years of professional driving: "Can you theoretically get a truck into a place where you literally could not get it out without airlifting it the **** out of there." Thank **** it was 4 am... it would have been extra brutal. Fortunately, I had one of our medium sized trailers that is 'only' 48 feet long. Had I been pulling one of our 50 footers... I'd have been driving on people's front lawns to get out.

Finally get into W. Elizabeth. Second, after that delivery, I leave there, back up 837 N to cross the 10th street... that in itself is.. not a brutal ride in a truck, but it's a bit of work. No room for error. Then, I get to the 10th street bridge, and it's under construction: 1 lane each way, with pylons out past each end of the bridge, out into almost Carson street on the one end, and onto 2nd street on the other end, by the tunnel. (which I'm not allowed in by the way.) I literally had to drive on the sidewalk and take up the entire intersection to make the right off Carson on to the bridge, and again to make the right off it on to 2nd ave. While enduring the death stares and crazy driving from 4 wheelers who won't give me 1 extra inch or 1 extra second to get around a tight corner. God forbid I engage in an activity that, you know, supports the continuing momentum of production and commerce in your city, so you can get to the store and buy goods and services that result from part of what I do. lol

Third, I leave there for Eighty-Four... back up 2nd Ave, hard left around the friggin construction pylons again, across the 10th street bridge, same shitty tight turns, crazy hard right onto Carson, and over to 51 S to 376 W to 79 S to 519.

From waking up an hour outside of West Elizabeth at 2 am, until my co-driver and I switched after the 3rd delivery in Eighty-Four, was 14 hours of work, to drive maybe... 150 miles? 3 deliveries, a coupleafew hours and change each... you do the math. A long, LONG stressful day of winding a large vehicle through and around small old roads and Pittsburgh traffic...

Oh.. and the little tidbit about my trailer being full of cryogenic explosive rocket fuel.

so,

Where did you cross in at?
coutts AB, then after driving here last night i realized my GPS was set at shortest distance instead of shortest time so I went all over the place and not on the interstates.

Grats south! Slightly bummed you won't be passing through, but good luck on your trip anyway!
I will be taking the "short way" home lol, i'll be passing by you then, sadly not in the stang though. Oh well this 6.0 vortec max moves pretty good for a big truck

new route to ohio, want to check out the 4 corners area, maybe go see the breaking bad house

montana

wyoming

by the time I made it to colorado is was 11pm, 1am to denver

its probably good I didnt drive the car, several times in Montana with about a 1/4 mile warning they had the pavement off the highway and it dropped down a couple inches to mud, dirt and gravel. Also hit a nasty pot hole on some side road in wyoming last night, would have ****ed the car.
