That bassani... i want to hear it!!! Youtube clip please??? ?
Finally warm enough to wash the car, I took some video too of the exhaust.

It's a warm start, and I just did a slowish rev to 2k, then a bit faster to 4k. I didn't want to go too crazy since I live in the city with a ton of close neighbors. I'll try to get some better video (driving) later.

I love the bassani growl!

I just reset my password and decided to check in since I am on my laptop.
FB 100% killed forums. And honestly, much easier to access. Forums suck on phones and that is how I am browsing the internet 95% of the time.

If anyone remembers my car, I finished my v6 build. Stock motor let go last october after a mishap that caused me to lose oil pressure. Aside from that the car was smoking like crazy and I think I had officially killed the piston rings.

I got a 4.2 stroker built, had a few issues, but finally got the car finished up a couple months ago. Car made 500 wheel. Fun as hell for a v6 car, going to hurt a lot of feelings.

I tried the fb thing but got off once I tried to discuss anything over a brake job. Most of the time if I need something I Google it. Most of the issues I experience have already been had on these cars. New items such as the morimoto fogs that were just released is exciting but it's hard to really discuss anything new with these cars. Prior to that was the magic drift lip spoiler. Not a ton of new things to discuss.

FB is mostly drama, exhaust threads, bashing v6 owners, ect

And, FB doesn't turn up on google searches nearly as often. As mentioned, most problems encountered on these, or any car, have been encountered before. Hard to beat the depth of resources provided by a near cult following.

The search in FB is garbage, especially in a group when you are trying to find an older post or something for sale. For me that's the biggest downfall of a car group with good info on Facebook; once a good discussion happens, it disappears into the abyss.

I had a Facebook account for several years and a couple years ago I got rid of it. I now only have an "account" for the market place and for two 99-04 Mustang buy/sell pages I go to from time to time. But there might be a resurgence in forums again in the coming years. I have been reading that people are moving from FB to Instagram, which is even more void of community groups/discussions.

I have seen the future, and it's just sharing pictures on Instagram and responding with nothing but emojis.

I still lurch around once in a while. Most of the reason I don't post online that much any more isn't because of Facebook or other platforms (I rarely post on those either), even though I DO know that's the reason a lot of people don't. No, I've just found things I enjoy more than posting online. I realize it sounds a little bit selfish sometimes, but I've come to a point in life where I'd rather be driving my car / truck, working on my car / truck, riding my dirt bikes, hiking, traveling, spending time with family, etc., instead of posting online.

When I first started posting on online forums, roundabout 2007, I can remember a few guys that were maybe 10 years older than me saying the same thing, that they were "retiring" from the onslaught of forums posts in the early-mid 2000s in favor of actually doing other things they enjoy more. I vividly remember thinking that that'd never be me, but here we are ~10 years later, and they couldn't have described me any better.

I actually sold my car, my baby, a few months back. I also remember saying that I'd never sell it, since it was my first car and with however many thousands of hours I have into it, but here I am. Surprisingly, I don't really miss it. In the pursuit of going faster and faster, I (unknowningly at the time) took it beyond being fun. I hardly ever drove it any more (barely 2000 miles in the last 2 years I owned it), and it sitting that much created a lot of problems that I'd never encountered when I drove it 20k miles a year. Every time I drove it, it seemed there was some new problem that came up that'd take half a weekend to fix. So I stuck it on Craigslist not expecting to get rid of it any time soon, and I'll be damned if a guy didn't come and bring the full asking pricing in cash the very next day.

As alluded to, my hobbies have changed quite a bit. I spend a lot more time simply outdoors, whether it be hiking, camping, just relaxing, etc. I started riding dirt bikes a couple years ago, and found that I enjoyed that MUCH more than I ever enjoyed racing cars. I also got around to buying, and currently modding, the diesel truck I've always wanted. But I learned my lesson with the car: don't forego fun in the pursuit of fast.

That said, one day when I've moved to somewhere with some more space, and I've got the cash sitting around to burn, I'll have another Mustang. From the day I bought my '98 when I was 15 years old, until today, my absolute favorite Mustang in the world is a 2003 Sonic Blue Cobra coupe. And one day, I WILL have one.

Until that day, you probably won't see me post on the Mustang forums very much anymore. Like I said, one side of me feels a little selfish being like that, since I can undoubtedly help a lot of people with what I've learned over the years. But the other side of me simply says that it's time to look back, remember the good times, and move on.

Howdy. I used to have another account but i can't remember anything about it so i literally made one again today haha. I feel like quite a bit of people on here have said something about either Instagram or FB. I have both, and i typically can be found messing around on Instagram, just liking pictures and following others in the palm of my hand. Quite a bit easier than getting on a computer (because i can't, for the life of me, work the site from my phone).

As Sneaky said as well, having the money laying around would be great. Wife and i just bought a second home, and while we have the 2 Mustangs, other stuff needs to come first. And that's okay with me. We are totally fine with going slow with the modding, knowing that at some point, we'll have the money and time to do whatever we want. In the meantime though, we'll enjoy just cruising around and hanging out!

Anyways. Yea. Also, Dexdiman i followed ya! (iiiiiiijklmm) lol
