I just went to the 11-14 forum. Last post a month ago. Club house much the same. Only a handful of us diehard still post on the political forum. We have posted so much we pretty much know exactly what the other will say.

Where did everyone go? I had thought they went to the newer platforms. I'm running a 2000. Its getting pretty old. But apparently they didn't.

Search engines don't help either. I found this site from google back in 2006, I think business have crowded the front page of Google so now when you search Google for info, you will more likely get a slew of links to parts vendors or some link to sell you something rather than the info on HOW to install something.

Only a select few of us are keeping this bitch on life support. Autoguide keeps trying to induce various forms of cancer but us white blood cells are fighting back!

This place will continue to live for as long as the handful of us continue to post. But thats really only in the clubhouse side. I know the tech sections are near dead and pointless to ask a question since you wont see a reply till next year. It is sad but all good things come to an end unfortunatley

I watch the tech side every day. Its just that nowadays there are no daily driver advocates. Most of the tech questions are beyond what I want to do with my car.

As newer platforms emerged why did people migrate. Hell, what ever happened to Shaun? He even changed his user name to reflect his his new car.

activity started dropping off a few years ago, not sure why exactly. could be facebook, could be the prominent people buying other cars, could be nazi mods (complaints of that definitely correlated with the timeframe of the activity drop), could be obama's fault, etc. then autoguide did the big forum layout change and killed off most of those remaining from the previous exodus. i'd say the nail in the coffin was when autoguide did the mass password reset after the layout change, which locked almost everybody out of their accounts. there wasn't a recovery after that

then everybody moved to facebook, realized tech information sucked on facebook, but stayed because everybody else was staying

now we just get the old members from time to time who pop in to say "wow this place is dead" and leave, or people who say "wow i miss this forum, i'm about to start being an active poster again" then leave.

every. single. one of them.

I know around here there arn't enough homes. People trying to get in a house are paying more than the asking price and forgoing the inspections even. Which means renting and not a lot of gearheads are working on cars in apartment parking lots. Plus no drag strip anymore. I heard something like kcir is supposed to be opening back up, but i dont know. And there's no cool movie to hype everyone up about it.

Then there's the demographic

Hell nah!

I just got burnt out on my Mach 1 being a piece of crap while daily driving a 130k+ mile beater and wanted something with nice features and a warranty for once in my life. I was planning on buying a 2016 Mustang GT before moving up to Seattle and realizing what "high cost of living" actually meant. So I settled for hotrodding my 4Runner instead since I can only afford one vehicle.

One day I'll return to the Mustang daze. I've got lots of daydreamed builds of another new edge. But I need a garage and throw-away income to get there...

:lmao

That's why I just call them out up front on every one of those threads. Because I figure at least one person will be like "what? no! don't be an asshole" but literally every single one of them has disappeared after their first "hey I'm back!" post.

No but it seems most many of us who post not don't even own mustangs anymore. I sold mine nearly 2 years ago for a civic but I'm not about to join a civic forum. I frequent the 67-72chevytruck forum and the Mustang Forums but that's about it other than here.

Yeah but Jake came back for some reason and has stayed so far.

Which is like 55% of a win.
