My satellite radio (shaker 500) recently crapped out, all I get is a "sat fault" message. I took it to the dealer, whose computer couldn't communicate with the radio. I have a custom tune via SCTX3, and was told by the techs that this can inhibit their troubleshooting procedures. Anyone else seen a custom tune doing this?

They said that I can reload the factory tune, let them fix the problem, then I can reload my custom tune.

I tried to look up some info on custom tunes interfering with satellite radios without any success.

I would probably just do what they said. You can load the factory tune and let them run a diagnostic on it, then load your custom back up. I know a couple guys that do this every time they take it to the dealership.

yeah no biggie putting the stock tune back in as long as they don't try to drive it anywhere
