I'm about to pull the trigger on a new tuner and was looking at getting the Xcal3. But what is this deal about pulling fuses before you load up a tune? And anyone out there using the SCT tuning software? I'm think that might be an option also.

Its so the battery doesn't die while flashing and brick the ecu. Here is some info on flashing.

+1 with the battery dieing, when I'm loading a tune through mine I just pull the fan and water pump fuse. Also check out the SCT website they have a tun of info along with videos for updating your Xcal and then installing your tune...do not install a tune without updating your software (I have done this and your car will run like horse crap)
