I found a shop that I like to do my converter install but had a question. My goal is to get around 500, maybe 500 and change rwhp. Do you guys think that I should get one of those frozen input shafts installed at the same time? And if I do do I need to get a new drum also? I am pretty ignorant about these 5R55S trannies and all of their capabilities. My plan is to get my S/C and run about 8 lbs. max until I can get to the bottom end forged and then up the boost probably to no more than 11-12 lbs.

So, do I need it, and if I do, do I need a drum, and should I do it now, or wait till I do the shortblock and up the boost?

I'm not sure you can just get a input shaft.... Not certain with the 5r55 because I've never had one apart. But with most of the transmissions I'm familiar with you would have to rebuild the whole trans to include a differen't input shaft.
