Well, I'm finally starting to gather parts for my go fast build, and I thought I'd make a thread of everything so far. (excuse my poor pictures, most of them are from a camera phone).

The car when I got it in April 2010. 24K on the clock :D


First mod was 20% tint all around, and a dual exhaust with custom H, all four cats, and flowmaster 40s.


EXHAUST VID AWE YEAH

Then came a mach 1 chin spoiler.


Then came 6000K HIDs from DDM.



with stealthy ballast mounting!

then came 03/04 cobra wheels! (and mud flap removal).


then 3000K fogs



next up was longtube headers, after having run a Mac O/R H pipe and not being able to get it to stop leaking.



followed by red calipers.


then a windstar upper swap


and then going low, cut springs 1.25 off the front, 1 coil in back



a mach 1 grille delete happened somewhere in there also.

then I finally got around to cleaning the rust proofing out of my engine bay


followed by a front strut tower brace



so sexy


thennnnn this happened.



got fixed





plastdip winter wheels :(


AND NOWWWW. the build begins.
currently have an 8.8 with 4.10s waiting to be installed.
Heads on the way waiting to be ported.
and a lower that is currently in progress of being ported.

Current mod list performance wise:
SCT Tuned by Lasota Racing
longtubes, O/R H, 2.5" flowmaster catback
Windstar Upper Intake Swap
Rear Sway Bar
Front Strut Tower Brace

Currently have:
8.8 rear with 4.10s.
stock lower intake getting ported.
heads on the way.

Build plans!
windstar.
ported lower.
ported heads.
cam.
4.10s
tranny cooler w/transgo shift kit
and either a procharger or turbo.

That cobra front looks amazing man. Good luck with the build..Car looks sexy, now just get some more air through the engine lol

I'm working on it ^ lol. I just haven't been home to be able to work on anything so far. Might go home this weekend and try and finish up that lower and start the heads maybe.

What shift kit you going with and what cam? if i have any advice to give...

Screw porting the heads because they flow more than enough for the setup your going after. and pulling the heads will waste alot of time for very little gain imo, especially since your going boosted anyway. and you can change the valve springs without taking the heads off. i would go with the comp cam 915 beehive valve springs too

Spend the money on a cam, stall, and shift kit. im getting a 3200-3500 stall and the transgo HD-2 shift kit next. with a stall and some nice tires it will beat any 5 speed v6 with same mods. and ill probably go with the cheap mishimoto trans cooler from AM for like $60.

and looks like our cars will be very similar if you go through with everything on your build list haha...minus boost if you go that route :shiftyeyes

Yeah that wreck sucked...damn black ice.

Walt, I bought a spare set of heads that I'm gonna work over and throw on when I do the cam. I figure if I'm that far I might as well do the heads while I'm at it.

The Cam is going depend on what boost set up I decide to go with, since turbo cam and blower cams are a bit different.

Shift kit I'll probably end up with some kind of Trans-go like you are doing.
