Was just curious if someone had any info on the gains after a PI swap on the 96-98 models.

i would say 40, since the 96-98 has 220 hp, and the 99-04 pi has 260. but maybe less, because your motor has more wear on it then ours.

A full PI swap on the npi motors has been known to give around 45-50ish rwhp. Your compression will be raised which is why a PI swapped npi engine will put down a few more hp.

depends what all gets done during the swap. people are getting 100rwhp with worked pi heads, cams, and header back.
the people with increase of 100 rwhp are useing custom cams, and not PI cams.........

with worked heads alone u'd prolly only gain about 50-60 peak rwhp, but with a good head/cam combo u can make close to 300 rwhp with an exhuast and tune

Its 50-60 with a Striaght PI Heads, Cams and Intake. Assuming you have some exhaust mods. You throw on a stage 1 or 2 cam. And your up to around 300 whp. So 20-30 more than with the PI cam. Your also looking at rougly a 1 point increase in your compression ratio, pushing you to use premium gas. not required, but definitely recomended. Now a custom cam with full exhaust and new TB & Plenum, you can be up to 340. But its all in the tune and cam grind.
