So my 99 cobra developed at squeak/squeal noise from 2300-2600rpm only. Nothing present at idle or at high rpms. It's got 46k miles on it, and as far as upgrades it's got a JLT intake, and after market mufflers of unknown brand.

Any info or advice is much appreciated, thanks in advance.

where is the noise coming from ? Bad throwout Bearing on clutch will squeal ,could be the belt, could be a few other things . Hard to diagnose with the little info you provided Brother.

I tried to see if I could hear it from the engine bay, but couldn't get the rpms up to the desired level to hear the noise. When inside the car I can hear it plain as day. I'm leading towards the trans/clutch area. I know what a bad throw out bearing sounds like, but it's odd to me that the sounds is only at a certain rpm range. I dunno. I'm not a mechanic, and only know a little bit about cars myself.
