Hey guys, I need some help with starter shopping. I have a 351w with 10.5:1 compression with a 164 tooth flywheel and a manual tremec transmission. The only starters I can find on summit are for the 158 tooth. I'm sure somebody on here has a 164 tooth so you must know some brands that sell them!!!

Starters are the same for Fords. The bellhousings are different. The bellhousing repositions the starter accordingly. I have a Powermaster starter that I've used with both the 157 tooth and 164 tooth flywheels.

^+1+1 Some starters need shimmed outward to work properly. Look into some of the P/M high torque starters from someplace like Auto Zone. Lifetime warranty, you won't pay for another starter.
