I just gave up on installing this stereo for my sister (its for an Acura RSX with Bose system). I have the wiring harness all set up and connected, lights for the stereo come on, can switch channels on the tuner, can throw a CD in there and see that time of the track going (meaning its playing) but no sound...

Anything basic I should check that I may have missed?

Not sure with a BOSE system or what, but if it is powered by any amplifers, make sure you have the blue/white cable connected to your stereo harness (remote amp turn on wire) that usually gives it the sound.
