I am swapping out my stock heads on my 93 302 they have a bad valve the compression is really low in that cylinder tested it and it wasnt the rings..

I ordered a cheap set of aluminum head to replace the stock ones..
My bottom end is mostly stock i believe its been bored. .30 over
And it has a E303 cam..

The heads are:
190CC intake runners
60CC combustion chambers
Heads are assembled with new 2.02 Stainless Steel once piece Intake valves
Heads are assembled with new 1.60 Stainless Steel once piece Exhaust valves
All 16 bronze guides
Heads are assembled with .600 valve springs with hardened valve keepers
Heads are assembled with screw in studs and guide plates
Heads are assembled with new valve seals

What head gaskets to i need? Copper ones?
Best way to check valve clearance? Would claying them be the easiest?
Can i use solid lifters in the motor with E303 cam?

Should i see any power gains?

But like i said they are just a cheap set off aluminum just to get me bye
Until this summer so i can build my other motor into a 347 stroker to
Replace the motor in my car now...

Do you know what pistons you have? You may have PTV issues with those heads

What heads are they? They're cheap for a reason...

Lemme guess. Procomp heads?

The 93 had hyd. roller lifters. Why do you want to go with solid lifters? Why replace the heads if you say its a bad valve. Did the compression check point to a bad valve or its seal? You sure its not something simple like a head gasket? Sounds like youre doing more work than needed, but thats just me.

To answer your questions. Lifters? Use stock rollers. Power? Going from stock heads you should get some power. I do suggest you check piston to valve clearance and also check pushrod length

Why won't you tell us what heads they are?

Not much out there that's cheap aluminum anyway...

Edelbrock e-street (170cc runner)
Patriots (190cc available)
Procomp (190cc available)

That's why I said Procomp..

I think he was asking if u use a solid lifter to ck ptv clearanceu. Yes, either that or bottom out your hydraulic ones. Have to measure for pushrods and buy rocker arms too

That's the question and everywhere I've check only sells them as a set not just one..
Guess ill try and bottom out the hydraulic ones from my other motor for test fitting
PTV clearance..

Will the Ford CraneCam pedestal 1.7 roller rockers work on studs with out the
Pedestal??

Pushrodes. .100 over stock..

What intakes out there have the best performance?
Do they have any intakes that dont cover the valve covers??
What about the Edelbrock Pro-Flo XT manifold?

Buy a single roller lifter (sealed power number ht2205) and tack weld the plunger to make it a solid lifter for checking pushrods.

You can't use the ped mount Rockers on studs

The proflo xt is the only one I know of that doesn't cover the valve covers. I don't know how it performs but it looks to big for 302 ci

Not the intake for a 302 unless you're taking it to 8 or so grand. Pretty much all box intakes will leave access to valve covers without removing it, there again, not right for what you have going though.

On the head gaskets either of these should work.

M-6051-A302
M-6051-B51

I'm pretty sure I'm running the B51s. I had the A302 and I didn't use them for a reason, but I can't remember why.

Im guessing that you dont have much done on account of you having an e cam. You need to sit down and make goals before you buy parts and then we can help you

My goal has been a faster mustang that can pass a CA smog check and be daily driver. Thats what I have been trying to work. I failed my last smog big time. Everything was good except NOx. It was 1500 something. My limit is 550 or around there.

Going to polish the combustion chamber and runners

Block is bored .60 over with flat top pistons..

Stock intake going to have it cleaned up and going to match gaskets.

Pro M 75mm, BBK 70mm TB, stock injectors, BBK shorties..

Not sure what cam to swap in since i completely pulled the motor..
