Was working on the exhaust today, and discovered that my tail shaft seal is busted. Went to the dealership, and it is under warranty, however, it's a $100 deductible to get it fixed. Is it worth it to take it to the dealership for 100 bucks, or should I try to fix it in on my own because it is just a seal.

If it's just a simple seal, I'd say do it yourself. Usually seals don't cost much of anything and you'll feel better fixing it yourself :yes

I can't say that I do. You might want to hit up Google and see if anyone out there has done any write-ups. Otherwise someone around here who's fixed the same thing might be able to give you some instructions.

its very easy, i did mine...remove the drive shaft....i just took a flat head screw driver to pull out the old seal, be careful though...and then install the new one, and gently tap it in. its very easy and straight forward
