Mod motor guys around here run SS rings with great success. The 05-06 Ford GT used stainless top and bottom rings from the factory. Was Ford wrong?
Good luck!! you will learn one day!!

What's up,
Was wondering why you swapped from SS rings to the moly rings?
Thanks,
Eddie
Mihovetz said the moly rings were fine up to 1500-1600 hp. They seal better and the car sees a lot of street time. Puffing out the catch can with SS rings all the time is annoying.

I remember talking to you about this. I bought my rearend from Blk_03. John is definitely a reputable source but I think I'm still going to run SS rings. It's a weekend warrior type car and only sees 3k a year run it runs.

You need to just hit the garage hard this weekend and get the car running. Surley it isn't that far off from running and driving.
Car is in Illinois big homie. Still waiting on it to get start on. But doing intake and engine parts gathering in the mean time.

Very possible buddy. I have $4500 left to buy for the transmission, 3k for the wheels and tires, custom turbo kit, mini tubs, and built rearend to pay for. Then the building for the engine on the side. None of that includes what else I spend my money on. So it will be sometime and I'm ok with that though.

So your saying that the guys on this forum who build mod motors are not a reputable and or trustworthy? why even ask for help if you do not trust the guys who keep building with success.

We are telling you how to get it done and get it done right because we have extensive experience specifically building high HP 2V motors.

We are trying to help you save money because as you said before you dont have alot of it to spend on this.

No I didn't say that. John M. is a pretty knowledgeable guy though. If they was a DD car or a car that drive long distances Plamsa Moly rings would be considered. But since it's not the SS is the route I am going. My good friend used them in his built 2v and have great success with them. I'll make the call to Total Seal before buying and if they steer me in a different direction them we shall see. I'd like to save money but I am not taking an shortcuts this time. If that means it's costing me more and takes longer then so be it. It will be done right and I'll finally be happy with the end result!

There is no need to call the Nitmare, Y2ko2 and myself have recommended moly rings in the past for a car like your setup.

Thanks for insulting all of us who dont know their mod motors..

Once again you are putting out **** for information about Molly rings and you dont know a ****ing thing about building motors yet you seem to have an opinion on what you know nothing of.. Telling people what rods, rings, pistons to get when you are truly clueless about them all together.

I am going to bust your ass every time i hear you put out **** for information like you did about these piston rings plasma pealing off which is a bunch of Garbage you read on a website and has no validity or practicality.

Stop giving motor building advice you do not have the knowledge to do so.

you know people actually take our advice on here when they are trying to put together something with their hard earned money so DO NOT go putting out this crap you keep reading in the same hot rod website. You need some experience or you need to shut the **** up and stop putting out bad INACCURATE, information like you did about that Damn tread stone inter cooler you reviewed.

Did you ever go back and revise that thread and tell everyone what a big POS it truly was? Hell no but that is something you need to fix before someone wastes their money on that POS. And when you get that done you need to pull down that crap about plasma peeling off on a 15 PSI FI car which is only a couple PSI above what most people run and your wanting SS rings that just shows how ignorant you are on the whole situation.

Pussy hurt much?

Talk to Zac Freeman or Todd Warren about it. I'll take their advice over yours any day of the week. And I'll go faster than you with spending less money. I will not retract my moly ring comments bc it's the truth. Call me out all you want and we'll discuss your arguments. You act like I live on an island. When I want advice I talk to my tuner, my fab guy, the local racer who owned a 7 second mod motor car, ect. I have my trusted sources. You just relay the bullshit MMR has fed you over the years.

Just sit back and enjoy the ride.
