Aspartame the sweetener in just about every diet soda and water sweeteners. aspartame is bad ****. it will actually make you gain more weight.

When you ingest the chemical aspartame it is absorbed from the intestines and passes immediately to the LIVER where it is taken inside the liver via the liver filter. The liver then breaks down or metabolizes aspartame to its components - phenylalanine, aspartic acid and methanol. This process requires a lot of energy from the liver which means there will be less energy remaining in the liver cells. This means the liver cells will have less energy for fat burning and metabolism, which will result in fat storing

Aspartame also causes weight gain by other mechanisms ---Causes unstable blood sugar levels, which increases the appetite and causes cravings for sweets/sugar. Thus it is particularly toxic for those with diabetes or epilepsy. Causes fluid retention giving the body a puffy and bloated appearance. This makes people look fatter than they are and increases cellulite.

so yea besides diet anything drinks tasting like **** they also are worse for you then regular soda.

diet coke has a version with splenda in it now if you have to have soda. look for it in 12 packs and look for the yellow and gray box.

splenda by the way is sugar that has certain chemicals removed to keep your body from metabolizing it like sugar. so it taste like sugar and wont kill you. its all we use now pretty much but it can be costly at times. plus for baking its no good. i dont care if they have one for baking it still dont work the same so if you must have cake use real sugar.
