I will try to make this short and sweet.
I have a 01 GT 5spd, 180K miles, BONE STOCK!!
The timing chain broke :( bent valves :(
This is not my daily driver and I have a budget of $4000
I'm doing all the work my self.

One route I'm looking to go down is-
Livernois heads the oem ones for $410ea
new timing kit set for $300
HiTech stage 2 cams $640
BBK LT's with H-pipe $650
MMR CAI $130
Gasket kit $ 115
Radiator "oem" and hoses $150

That puts me at about $2800

Any thoughts or input would be great!!! Thanks

Ever consider a turbo build? buy a tubular k-member for the turbo instead of the long tubes. Just the route i would go. I dont have a lift so i take the engine and trans from the top and everytime i do a new setup the longtubes are the worst part, next time my motor comes out its turbo time lol id literally buy a turbo kit just to avoid the long tubes lmao!!

^^ I agree. And i think u should upgrade them heads. Why stick with oem when u got the cash. Or atleast bore it out and put in forged parts.

For 4 grand you could probably get a trick flow top end. Or you could go for a turbo set up. Depends what kinda power you want or what you want to do with the car. I would find used heads as well 410 each is alot unless there ported. Is there any work done to them? You could get a set of Ported PIs for that price from modular head shop.

I'm kicking around the though of a turbo build.
I could do an On3 kit with K-member, and fuel upgrade for about $2900
But then that only leaves me $1100 for heads, timing chain kit, and radiator.

Need to replace the radiator because it's got a pin hole leak.

I could do the Trick Flow top end kit $3200
Tensionser and chain guides $100
Radiator and hoses $150
That was put me at about $3500 on a TFS set up

The car is not a daily driver, it has full suspension upgrade, sub frames, big brakes. The car sees zero track time. I perfer freeway cruising and turns and some street action :)
I would love to go the turbo route because of the about of torque you get.
The only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger on the turbo it the fact the it will be over my budget right now.
I could swap K-members and go aheads with the fuel upgrades now and forget about the LT's and CAI and go with a set of MMR or Livernois ported heads and a stage 1 turbo cam. Then in the futur all I would need is the On3 turbo kit for $1588.

To many options, this what I hate about builds :) errrr.
