i am going to change the tranny fluid on my 86 gt, and was wondering what fluid to go with. everyone tells me something different... ATF, synthamax, etc., which do i go with. i looked at ATF at the base post and they had all different types of ATF, like mobil ATF for F models, and Royal Purple Manual Transmission fluid. what isnt going to cause me to have to overhaul my tranny?

Go to your Ford dealer parts department and ask the guy for oil, filter and a pan gasket for a 86 GT.
