best bang you'll get for that kinda money

+A lot. You're starting with probably the worst motor possible if you want to make power on the cheap.sell yer car and buy a fox.
that's about 100 hp gain right there if the fox is stock.
I do not think so. The gt mustangs with the modular motors are way more expensive to gain power with. Sure they gain more from bolt ons, but when you get into the engine, the parts are extremely expensive. Just to convert a car with a modular to a stroker at my college, with a shop rate of $15 per hour costed with the discounted parts and only the stroker kit, the forged rods, forged pistons, rings, and bearings was $6300. That is insane. You could build a 4.3 stroker v6 for a lot less than half of that.+A lot. You're starting with probably the worst motor possible if you want to make power on the cheap.
5.0's are cheap for sure. but there is no way you can compare a 3.8L and 4.6L money wise modding. The mod motor will cost leaps more to mod. Cams alone are crazy exp[ensive enough and then you have to get the timing on them right, which from what a guy i know is going through would suck.I'd say the 3.8 and the 4.6 are around the same if you want to mod them.. for real though the 5.0's are cheap to mod.
maybe they are and maybe they are not as cheap to mod as the 5.0 which parts r extremely cheap for, but they are still great cars. Both the 3.8 and the 2v 4.6 are money pits to make fast.
