I installed the Trick Flow valve spring kit TFS-2500525 when I rebuilt the engine a few years ago. The springs say they support .580" lift and the instructions stated that when installed in PI heads the included .030" shim should be used. These springs worked fine for my previous camshafts with .550" lift, but I think they are binding with my new cams that have .575" lift. Does the .030" shim make the actual lift supported lift .550 (.580-.030)? Do I need to remove the shim to support the .575" lift of the new cam?
