Currently have S197. 4.6L with CAI, lowered suspension, short throw shifter and glasspacks. Vehicle will be paid in full a lil after '12. Finally compiled a list of all the upgrades I would like to get done in the long run for my vehicle. Feel free to tear this list apart or suggest alternate parts and if you see anything that won't go together please tell me asap haha.

I am unsure in which order I should get these parts installed. If you want to just put a number next to the parts in like { } or something... perfect! The aesthetics portion is because I copied it from my Garage and figured why not add. Feel free to ignore all of that :)

I've built quite a few cars in my days and am a little "old school." But I have learned that you should always build from the ground up. Tires, brakes, suspension first. Then drivetrain, rear end, drive shaft, transmision. And then engine power mods.

Another thing I have learned to keep a happy relationship with your car is to mix up your performance parts with some bling, or appearance mods. This is good karma for the relationship, or any relationship. Think about it this way, if you buy your wife a new vacuum cleaner (performance mod), it will probably work better if you get her some diamond ear rings as well, as oppossed to just getting her the vacuum cleaner by itself. Just food for thought.

if i'm understanding you right... the 4.6L stock isn't good enough?
Those cams and that whipple will give your block a run for its money buddy. Be on the safe side and be ready for it when it goes.

Yup I figured I would get that put in before I picked up the s/c. And I would rather push the limit of the 4.6 and show what it can do than wait like 3 years and get a 5.4L haha. If I bust out the pistons that would suck. Send links on any parts you think I'm missing than... But maybe i'll have an excuse at that point to tell my wife time to get a 5.4L ahahaha

trust us man, the motor isn't going to last long AT ALL with the mods you have listed. you'd be better off to build it before it blows so you have a salvageable block. you don't have to go for the 5.4 you can always get a forged rotating assembly for your stock block or buy an already forged shortblock without having to mess with the hassle of swapping in a 5.4

good to hear :) How does this look? 4.6L Ford CHP Pro-Street Short Block

EDIT: I haven't done much engine work in the past is why I'm trying to get so much help from MM... would it be more beneficial to get a 5.4 block or something and change all the parts to fit it instead and perhaps an engine hoist and do the work in my garage until I can lower it into my car? sorry if I sound
http://www.fordracingpartsdirect.com/5_4L_FORGED_IRON_SHORT_BLOCK_p/m-6009-c54sc4.htm <---Would this be able to fit into the 06 GT? It says for new 07-10 but not sure where to find a 5.4L that will fit in the 06

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say stick with the 4.6L unless you absolutely HAVE to have the 5.4L. The 4.6L 3v is lighter than the 5.4L and still makes phenominal power when boosted. Not to mention the 4.6L can be built to rev much quicker. I would seriously look into a forged rotating assembly for the 4.6L rather than swapping to the 5.4L. The only way I would swap to a 5.4L is with the new 5.4L block which is supposed to be lighter than previous iterations. Even then, the 4.6L can be made to be a massive motor with much less work AND the parts are readily available off the shelf.

check out livernois they have complete rotating assemblys or you can check out some of the already built forged shortblocks from companies such as brenspeed's B302 or JDM

stick with the 4.6 lighter just as much potential if its built right and your car is already set up for it.
