I need new rear tires and want to get the Nitto NT05R 315/40-18 for my street tire. I used to have a set in 285/40-18 but they're really too short for my car - I have 4.10s.

Will the 315/40-18 fit in the rear? I have the swaybar relocation for my drag setup. They are measured on an 11" rim by Nitto but I will put them on 18x10's.

Thanks.

They'll be fine. I just ordered 305/45/18 555r's for the rear today.
Are you lowered?

possible yes, but the backspace on the wheel will be what decides if they will rub or not.

Yep, I actually ran that tire for awhile in 2009. Good tire - I had the original design. It was only about 8.5" wide and really didn't look good on the car but it hooked good. I know they redesigned it and made it wider.

The current one is shown as 9.5" tread width and 10.2" section width so it's probably not too bad. I may end up with that one.

Still would like to know if anyone has put an NT05R 315/40-18 on their car. I think that'd look real good if it's not too wide. Height is shown as 28.03".

Thanks.

how about m&h. not sure it those are to narrow though

I have the 315/40/18 NT05R's on 18x10's with +45mm of backspacing. The 285's I had on it sat just inside the fender. The 315's sit just outside the fender. The hook up great though. I went 1.601 60' last Saturday on them.

Thanks! That's what I hoped to hear. I'll probably get a set of those for the street then. My rims are 7.5" bs with a +45mm offset so I should be good to go.

Thanks to everyone for the input.

Marc S - you have any pics of the car with those tires on it from further away?
I will take some today and post them.
