casper are you sure they wont fit? i just read the article and i dont think a different offset will cause a problem... unless it is a big difference. how tall of a tire can i get if these are too tall... im trying to buy used rims and tires so what other years are compatible with my mustang. any besides 2000-2004?

also a negative offset would imply a larger lip on the rims correct?

That diameter tire will run on you ride, but might rub a bit at 27.2" diameter. The OEM tire diameter of your car is, or was, 25.6". The off-set difference is about 5/8" farther inward than what it would be on the S197. That is to say, you will have this much LESS clearance on the inside and have seen these wheels run on your year car. One could run spacers, but DON'T recommend doing so, but rather buying wheels meant to fit your ride.

The off-set has no direct relationship to the lip of wheel necessarily, but can be indicative.

Jazzer :)
