i've read the factory literature saying "blah blah blah" about both X and H pipes. before i decide on which would be best for what i want, i'd like to get some opinions of you guys. i trust a knowledgable consumer way more than i trust the guy who wants to sell it to me.

thanks guys.

x= a little more raspy in the high rpms +1 or 2 HP in high rpms.

h= a little deeper of a tone + 1 or 2 TQ in low rpms.

it's a sound based decision more than a power wise decision

I've run both, I got better performance with the 3" "X" pipe but the 3" "H" pipe did sound a little better.

thanks guys. i know this has probably been asked a thousand times on here. i appreciate the info. :)

i've been leaning more towards the H just based on what i've heard about the sound. i don't really like that cracklin raspy sound. right now mine sounds like crap. only one muffler is on. and there's a leak between the header and midpipe on the side that does have the muffler.

I've heard that X gives much better low to mid torq vs H. True or false?

Anyway, i like the raspy X-sound

i doubt you would feel the difference between the two, but you could hear a difference...

I like the H with chambered mufflers and X with straight through style mufflers.

sound wise..

X - modular
H - 5.0

can't beat an o/r H pipe on a 5.0

bumpity bump bump

i may be getting a little too excited but there's less than a day left on the h pipe and only one other guy has bid on it, and it's sitting at 56 bucks.
i'm sure when it hit's an hour or so, it'll start jumping up like crazy.

but i put a 2K max bid so i should be fine. j/k :D

IMO the x pipe is quieter at WOT than an H-pipe

Otherwise I can hear almost no difference. I currently have a bassini X pipe with cats.
