Well I was very ambitious about getting my car into the 10s NA without touching the heads or cams. Ended up running a 11.5 @ 122 several mid to high 122mph traps. Best being a 123. I was definitely happy, but I knew it could go quicker. The launch was kicking my ass, breaking parts, not hooking etc... who knows, maybe a simple shock change would have changed that.
I ordered a CJ setup. Put that on. Looked killer. It felt pretty good, I have a hard time noticing small gains, but it seemed a bit quicker. With the ported boss setup I made 442/398. CJ, monoblade, and rev auto car made 444/390. My driver side axle is bent, could that have affect the dynos reading? Possibly. I dyno about 10 - 15 rwhp lower with 30 psi in the drag radials, pump them to 40 psi and it picks that power back up. So there's always little variables.
That same day, right after my pull. My buddy with a vortech boss at 10psi made 735rwhp. I said to myself I think it's time to go with boost.
I talked to terry, planned on picking up a novi 2200. Sold my CJ setup. Was literally on the car for 4 days haha! And Terry was helpful, I was getting close to pulling the trigger. But I came across a Hellion twin kit on svtp. For a pretty reasonable price. Guy had to still get it off the car. So I sent him a deposit. Bought ID1000s, plugs, new header gaskets, new oil pan to weld drain lines in versus tapping and a spec 2+ clutch.
Anyways the twin kit will be here tomorrow. Now, I'm almost debating on selling the twin kit and going with a CPR single kit. No doubt hellions kits are killer, twins would be nasty. But the way I'm looking at dyno graphs, and even track numbers, almost seems like singles are running faster. No doubt the CPR kits perform. Just a hefty price tag. But I'm figuring, selling the hellion kit atleast make my money back, Kooks headers, rxt clutch, Tubular k member I'll be pretty close to what a cpr kit costs.
Any advice? The way a single comes on looks like a very fun street car, and highway monster. Twins come on like a mix of a centri and PD blower which would be a blast too.
Part of making the switch is gettin back to a more comfortable street car. Full size wheels, nice handling suspension. Something I can roll up to the track not swap wheels, not try and break ****, just launch soft and enjoy it. And of course a single leaves plenty of room to grow.
Idk just kind of debating on which way to go. I change my mind a lot as you can tell haha. But if I'm gonna spend the money, I want to do something I won't regret.
