I bought the typhoon intake manifold when I blew the stock one. The job was easy but the only thing I noticed is that the gaskets looked cheap. I put them on anyways and they were fine for a while but recently started leaking. I origonally tightened the bolts to 18lbs as recommended during install, and tightened them once later that week to ensure they were still tight. I had the torque on 10lbs and they recommended 18 so I thought it would be OK. The bolt turned once and sheared off the head of the bolt. I was so damn pissed I could have kicked the car.
The questions that I have are...
1) Should I have it drilled and tapped? The only thing I worry about is that I might still have the problem later.
2) Take the manifold off AGAIN. Back the screw out myself with a pair of plyers and change the gaskets?
OR
3)If im going to go as far as #2 states, I always told myself I would never do that job again without changing out the heads/cams. Should I just do this and suck it up, maybe have head work done?
