I am going to be installing a Lakewood adjustable UCA this weekend. The part didn't have any directions so I looked at BMR's site for their directions. Their directions involve removing the mount and UCA as an assembly. I was wondering if this is necessary for installing just the UCA, I am not installing a new mount.

Absolutely necessary. And to get the mount out you have to pull out the back seat and drop the fuel tank...no joke...I tried every half-assed quick fix trick I could think of to no avail...dropping the fuel tank isn't bad, putting it back up is horrible.

yes it is necessary to pull everything out so you can torque everything to specs.

I'm guessing it'd be easier on a nearly empty tank too? :dunno

I would do a write-up on it but since I'm doing this on the garage floor, with the car on jack stands, I don't think taking pictures is going to be the first thing on my mind.
I haven't done it myself, but the install directions in this link don't require you to drop the gas tank:

It just saves headaches and scraped hands to just lower the fuel tank. And when you retorque the bolts dont over tighten them, if you can't do it any further with one hand don't push any harder because youll break the bolt off up in the car like I did. Obviously 120 ft lbs was too much and thats what BMR said to do on their instructions.

My LCA's aren't adjustable. I'm getting this to adjust the pinion angle for the 1 piece DS

I did my control arms a few weeks ago. I did not drop the tank (too much of a pain in the ass). If you leave the bracket loose so you can move it to get to the bolt you'll be able to tighten it. It's still a pain in the ass, but it's doable. Dont forget to install the "anti clunk" bushings ( I forgot to put one in, now I have to get up in there again) or you'll get clunking noised from the rear every time you shift.
