if i purchase gears i was wondering if i need to buy anything else like a shim kit?????

i knew i needed oil and fiction modifier with the gears but isnt the bearing kit opitonal???

also why do i need a gasket maker and how much are they?

couldnt i just get a new gasket

the gasket maker is about 5 bucks .. it's just high temp rtv.

I don't think Ford makes a gasket anymore. I think the rear ends are all put together with "make a gasket" now a days.

the bearing kit is optional but your bearing have wear on them and may go bad sooner than you with them too.
why pay to have your rear end opened twice when you can put all new parts in the first time ??

so if i go to am and get the installation kit plus the bearing kit and the gears will i be all set

i belive its 170+75+40

and im not sure what comes in their installtion kit but i found friction modfier for 4 bucks in this months MM&FF and the oil is only like 10 bucks

The bearing kit is the shim/installation kit plus the bearings...the bearing kit includes everything you need for the install besides the oil of course.

if its got under 65k or 50 whatever.. just get you so shims, crush sleeve, new pinion nut. 3q synthetic

you wont need bearings in a new car... i hope not anyway...

whassup dude what the hell you been up to man?
